15 April 1915 Wiseman writes to Tolkien... He has received Tolkien's poems via Gilson and has nearly finished a musical setting for Wood-sunshine. According to the book Tolkien and the Great War by John Garth, the music was composed for "two violins, cello, and bassoon". The poem is partially reprinted in Humphrey Carpenter's biography of Tolkien (p. 55 in my copy). Tom Shippey's introduction to the Tolkien collection Tales from the Perilous Realm calls "Wood-sunshine" "The first of his works to take an interest in fairies, that we know of"."
