Day breaks, light into a dark world
Stars fade, I see where I am
Blue skies turn to grey inside me
Flying high into the rising sun

Don't wait for me any longer
By tomorrow things could have changed
It couldn't be the same
The same...

Seven stones, seven stars above you
Dying in the courtyard there's one white tree
Memories fading from the old world
Living in a dream, but it's dead and gone

Don't wait for me any longer
I think already it's too late
It couldn't be the same
The same...

I'm not waiting any longer
By tomorrow things could have changed
It couldn't be the same
The same...

Comments
Beautiful lyrics. Sounds like they are intended to convey Amandil's urging of his son, Elendil, to flee from Númenor if his attempt to atone for the sins of his people fails, and the fear and doubt that torment Elendil after his father's departure. The extended live version of this song contains additional lyrics. Artist Comment: "The extra lyrics in the live versions are either from "Plague of Lighthouse Keepers" by Van Der Graaf Generator (Pawn Hearts) or "House With No Door" also Van Der Graaf (H to He). Live versions could be anything up to 20 mins & would often include Van Der Graaf +/or Pink Floyd references!"
