Day after day out on these roads I travel, mile after mile, from town to town.
Time after time I look around in wonder, step after step I break new ground.

I never return from a journey the same as when I left...
I just love the road!

(Ch.)
I love the road!
I just love the road and...
I love the road!
We just love the road and...

Year after year around the world I travelled, state after state, from town to town.
Time after time I did look back in wonder and now at last I'm coming 'round.

She never returns from a journey the same as when she left...
She just loves the road!

(Ch.)
I love the road!
I just love the road and...
We love the road!
We just love the road and...

"...He used often to say there was only one Road; that it was like a great river;
its springs were at every doorstep, and every path was its tributary.
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door,” he used to say.
“You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet,
there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.
Do you realize that this is the very path that goes through Mirkwood,
and that if you let it, it might take you to the Lonely Mountain
or even further and to worse places?”..."

(Ch.)
I love the road!
I just love the road and...
We love the road!
We just love the road and...

Time after time I did look back in wonder,
and now the past is coming 'round...

"...The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began..."

"...Along the hidden paths that run east of the moon west of the sun..."
