Beren & Luthien is one of the stories of The Silmarillion, the prequel to The Hobbit and LOTR. The tune captures the forest air at the start, where Beren meets Luthien, mystical music as they journey to Angband, fantastic chords as a Silmaril is taken from Morgoth's crown, a quiet, sad, oboe solo as Beren and Luthien die, a sole flute is the sad song sang by Luthien to the underworld, and the cheerful rejoicing end as they are granted new lives.</p>
